Flossing : Glasgow Dentists

Cleaning between your teeth can be done by using dental floss or tape. The space between the teeth and under the gum line cannot be accessed by a tooth brush. So the food particles lying between these spaces can be removed by dental floss. You can learn the flossing techniques from your Glasgow dentist or hygienist.
Glasgow dentists recommend following techniques for flossing:
* Take floss measuring about 18 inches. Wind its one end around one of your middle fingers of one hand. Then wind the other end around the same middle finger of the other hand. While using the floss the used section of floss is taken up with this finger.
* Floss should be held between forefingers and thumb in such a way that one inch part of floss remains between them. This part should be tight without slack. Gently move it back and forth between the teeth. You should not strike it with the gums nor jerk the floss. Just rock it gently.
* Bring the floss near gum line and press it against a tooth so that the floss bends to form C-shape.
